A bit of history ...

At the end of the nineteenth century extended to the left of the mouth of a village of fishermen`s houses, who admitted their boats into the stream.
At the beginning of the `900 Vittorio Belli gave the name of the goddess Hygeia, the daughter of Asclepius at a holiday village designed in the pine forest between the river and use the" Torre Pedrera. ""Marina" was associated with the name Igea, when they settled in the southern summer camps for children.
The town was established in 1956 to spin-off of four villages of the town of Rimini and Bellaria Igea Marina as well, Bordonchio, Cagnona and Borgo Vecchio.
